Prohumman

I was a product designer from June 2019 to March 2020 on the Vertical Experiences team. This dynamic, vision-focused team was created to sit in between the customer and pro teams, and design experiences that would become the future of our product.
My shipped projects led to thousands of bookings, and I also ran two qualitative research sessions with the help of the research team.

Be impact focused
Impact thinking is by far the most important skill I have learned at Thumbtack. I am now trained to think about options, assess the impact of each, and make a decision. This applies to the product development cycle, but also decision making in general.

By being impact focused, the team and I were able to make tradeoffs and focus our efforts into the projects that would yield the best results for our product.

Be passionate about learning
From the moment I joined the company, I found countless opportunities to try something new and to work on developing new skills. This allowed me to be flexible and even lean into these new-found skills including presenting, conducting research and writing amazing article.

I also learned to play music!
Get to know your team
I spent time getting to know each of the functions I collaborated with (design, engineering, PM, analytics, research, content strategy, and PMM). This allowed us to communicate better and to make great strides in the metrics and team morale because of this.
